About the product
Plan your paving before the first tile is laid
A new patio, garden path or paved outdoor area starts with an idea. You choose the paving you like, measure the available space and imagine how the finished result might look.
But how will those tiles actually fit?
Where should the pattern begin? What happens along the edges? Will the layout create awkward narrow cuts? And how much material might you eventually need?
These are questions that become much easier to answer when you can explore your design before construction begins.
Garden Paving Planner is being developed to make that process more understandable.
Designing with real dimensions
Unlike garden visualization tools that simply display paving as a texture, Garden Paving Planner works with actual tile dimensions and geometric layouts.
Individual paving tiles have real sizes and positions within the design.
This provides a more meaningful representation of a paving project. The aim is not just to create an attractive picture, but to understand how a selected paving product and pattern fit into a particular space.
By experimenting with layouts, dimensions and patterns, users can develop a clearer picture of their project and the practical decisions involved.
From design towards a buildable plan
Choosing a paving pattern is only the beginning.
Different layouts can affect the number of cut tiles, the appearance of edges and potentially the amount of material required.
Garden Paving Planner is being developed with a longer-term goal: helping users compare design alternatives and turn their selected layout into useful information for purchasing and installation.
Planned development areas include layout optimization, cut analysis, material quantities, packaging calculations and printable paving plans.
The ambition is to help users move from "This is how I want it to look" to "This is what I need to build it."
Designed for real paving projects
Garden Paving Planner is particularly aimed at homeowners preparing a real paving project, whether they intend to do the work themselves or hire someone to install it.
The concept may also be useful to smaller paving professionals, retailers and suppliers who want to help customers make better-informed choices.
Rather than attempting to become a complete landscape-design or CAD system, Garden Paving Planner focuses on a specific challenge: paving layout and material planning.
Current development status
Garden Paving Planner is an actively developed desktop application, initially targeting macOS.
Its geometry-based approach provides the foundation for more advanced planning capabilities, while the interface and product experience continue to evolve.
The long-term goal is straightforward: make paving decisions easier to understand before materials are ordered, delivered and installed.
Better decisions begin with a better plan.
